Azran and his team are responsible for building the foundations of the company, from the first business plan draft to the purchase of aircraft and business launch. Only two years later, AirAsia X was awarded ''Airline of the Year'' by Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation's annual Awards for Excellence, whereas Azran was nominated twice for the "CEO of the Year" award by the World Low Cost Airline Congress in London. Today, Air Asia X is recognized for successfully breaking many long-haul airline conventions and pioneering numerous highly innovative services.
